I got him from a shelter, he’s about 4 years and he’s extremely loving. I don’t make a big
deal when I leave him, trying to make him understand that I’ll return. But he won’t stop.
I taped him for half an hour, he wouldn’t stop barking and crying. What do I do?

I have a small yorkshire terrier who lives inside with us. He is like a family member. He will forever bark at the lightest sound and scares my two year old daughter. I don’t believe in shock collars or muzzles. Is there a training technique anyone knows of that I can try. I am willing to try anything except the two I mentioned above. Thanks for your help!

House Training Dog – Dog Training and Puppy Training

People admire a dog as pet as well as a faithful companion but without any kind of training what so ever, a dog will behave just like an animal unless he is taught by someone, his owner. All the dog owners must house train their dogs as no one would appreciate his or her pet doing business inside their house. Proper housekeeping training is to be given to a dog with which he understands when and where he has to eliminate. Dogs must be taught the rules of the house if the owner wants to make his life easier and less worried with his dog. Besides that a house trained dog is less likely to create any trouble for the owner and other people in the surroundings.

Many animals including dogs do not usually eliminate at places where they sleep unless they are confined to that place for longer periods. Dog owner should make the best use of this natural habit of his pet and utilize in order to benefit from it. If the dog is under 12 weeks old, it is best to house train him by starting crate training. A crate is similar to a cage with a front door made of bars. These are made not to punish or confine a pet for long but they are utilized for making the dog understand what a house is like. A crate might be considered as a bedroom for the dog with just enough space inside so that the dog can stand turn around and even play with his toys. Remember not to confine your dog in a crate for more than an hour or two.

Dogs love to follow people specially their owners and if you will not train him which way is the way out, he might follow you in your bathroom as he has no idea what you want from him. For example you are getting late to go outside to take your dog for a walk and you want to get dressed but your dog keeps following you instead going outside and waiting for you there.

The solution to this problem is to always use the same door to take your dog outside. Make sure you never allow him to use other doors for exiting. This is a very basic yet very important dog house training technique that always works as dogs love to follow rules as they are pack animals in which each member is assigned a role to perform. This is something that they have by birth, you just need to work on it a little more according to your house rules and settings.

During house training, many dog owners do not praise or reward their dogs whenever they obey and follow commands. Although it is not necessary to do this all the time. But it helps a lot during the training periods as the dog knows what he is doing correctly for getting all the love and affection and some treat as well. This technique is very essential and you will notice a considerable improvement in your dog behavior once you continue to reward him for his obedience.

People ask when is the best time to train a dog for your house. The best time to train a dog of any age is NOW. Many dog owners are lazy when it comes to house train a dog as this neglected behavior will soon be causing more problems for both the owners and he dog.

Thanks to this powerful insider information, over 218,997 dog owners worldwide have been successful with their house training puppies, and solved their dog’s behaviour problems.

If you have a disobedient dog that causes you stress or embarrassment then you’ve come to the absolute best place for finding out how to communicate with and train your dog. With my techniques of house training puppies, your dog will become that well behaved dog that makes other people envious.

You’ll discover how this method will help you to resolve all your dog’s behaviour problems quickly and for good. These problems include aggression, biting, digging, barking, chewing, jumping, housetraining, whining, bolting out the front door, separation anxiety, pulling on the leash, and a lot more.

For example, if you want to stop your dog from jumping up you have to know:

The Two Reasons Why Dogs Jump Up On People

First, and probably most common, is the jumping dog who greets this way. This can simply be from over-excitement – they “jump for joy. ” Dog behaviorists also point out that jumping behavior is partly instinctive. Dogs lick each others faces when they want to give a super nice greeting, a likely reflection of lower ranking members of a wolf pack licked the faces of the higher ranking wolves returning from the hunt. In addition, puppies in a den jump over one another for their mother’s attention. More specifically, puppies target their mother’s face, as a she typically regurgitates food for her litter, another reflection of the wolf pack.

Also, this behavior can be positively reinforced during greeting times, when a jumping dog is met by an excited owner who immediately praises, feeds, walks and/or plays with their pet after getting “jumped,” so to speak. Jumping becomes part of this routine. It is rewarded and reinforced.

A second reason for jumping, which is less commonly the case, is that they may be trying to establish dominance. Dogs jump up on each other through what’s known as “teeing off. ” In particular, they rest their head or paw (or both paws) on the shoulder of a dog they want to dominate and exert a bit of downward pressure. Because we walk on two legs, we’re more difficult to tee off on, but the motivation is the same. The dog may be trying to express dominant status. In these cases, they often jump up once and more or less lean on you.

My dad is the type of person that he “will not” tolerate a dog barking at him in his own home or when he comes into his own home. My dog is fairly small and cant be a threat, but its just the principal of it. Sometimes he will bark and sometimes he will growl at him. We have all rough housed and played with him, but my dad is the only one he barks at and growls at. Any suggestion on how to get him to stop. My dad is not a very big animal person, i mean he does play with him, but he is not gonna take the “extra” time with him. What do i need to do to break my dog of this habit and quick?
