Barking Mad Dog Owners Try Dog Barking Collars

I love my dog. I love the faithful affection that my mottled mutt shows me every time I step through the door. I love the way he joyously runs to play fetch with me. I love walking him all over the neighborhood while we enjoy each other’s company. I love my dog almost as much as I love my own family. I even love old Snoopy more than some of my relatives.
As a matter of fact, the only thing that I really love more than my dog is my sleep. The unfortunate fact is that sometimes they clash. My dog is quite a barker. Even with most of the barking collars that I have tried, it is difficult to get him to shut up. If the postman comes by, he barks. If a car, truck, bicycle, or motorcycle drives by, he barks. When I first got him, I was hesitant to get a bark collar.
I always thought that anti barking collars were inhumane. But that was before three months of sleepless nights. The neighbors have stopped complaining and started calling the police. I knew that it was time to get him a barking collar.
There are so many barking collars available that it can be dizzying at first. When I first knew that I needed to train snoopy not to bark, I got him a citronella collar. I thought that this would be much less cruel than the other barking collars on the market. It may have been humane, but it did not do anything to help the problem. Honestly, of all the barking collars that I’ve tried, the citronella collar was the least effective.
The problem is, all of the other barking collars that you can get are kind of sadistic. There are a few variations on barking collars, and I do not know all of them. Most of them, however, can be fit into three types. There are the citronella collars, the electric shock collars, and the ones that make the high-pitched noises. Of all of these, the ones that make the high-pitched noise are more effective than the other barking collars.
It seemed like such a mean thing to do to a dog, however, that it took me a while to get one for him. Even once I had it, it was another week before I could bring myself to put the sonic barking collar on my dog. Once I did, however, the barking quickly subsided.

Electric Dog Collars: What Are They?

Are you bothered by your dogs’ constant barking? You should be, because there are a lot of possible issues that could crop up. For example, neighbors would be knocking at your door, bringing their complaint letters. If you can’t do anything with your dog after then, maybe it would be the town officials’ turn. You really don’t want to find yourself in such a mess, do you? What you need then are electric dog collars.
What are these electric dog collars?
These are devices that are usually attached in dogs as a way of disciplining them, especially when it comes to their barks. They work with the use of ultrasonic waves, which are emitted when the collar “hears” the barking sounds or vibrations. These sounds will not be heard by the human beings, so they are completely safe and not annoying to anyone. However, since dogs are known to have high hearing capacity, they would be able to pick up the sound. The high pitch will be enough to startle and stop them from barking.
What are their features?
Electric dog collars usually come with adjustable collars, but depending on the size of the neck of the dogs. The smallest one would probably be great for dogs that have no more than 16 inches in neck size, while the bigger ones can accommodate to as much as 28 inches.
It’s essential that you know the neck size of your dog. Even if these collars can be adjusted and have excellent buckle system, they also have their own size limit. You don’t want your dog to feel too choked up or gagged. His or her neck should also be restricted to create movements.
Moreover, electric dog collars have perfect bark detection technology. This means that the collar will only “listen” to the vibrations or sounds produced by your dog. There are other collars that make use of microphones, which, unfortunately, can get other kinds of sounds such as the barks of other dogs.
It might be difficult for your dog to really determine the real cause of the high-pitch sound, which is actually his or her own bark. Simply put, it may impede in your idea of disciplining him or her.
Electric collars can also be adjusted depending on the correction level you need or want. Dogs can definitely learn that the sound is reproduced because of their barks. If they are able to manage their barks more effectively, it’s only right that you would also adjust the correction level to a much lower setting.
Is this safe for dogs?
The answer is yes. After all, the real purpose of electric dog collars is not to subject them to torture or punishment. Rather, they are used for corrective measures. The sounds can disappear quickly and would not cause any damage to the hearing ability of your dog. A lot of dog owners can testify to this. As mentioned, you can also adjust the correction level of the collars to complement with the temperament of your dog.

Anti Barking Collars for Small Dogs

Training your dog to stop barking is a lot easier said than done.   It is especially hard if you are not home during the day and that is the main time he is barking annoying your neighbors.   Dog barking does not just effect you, it can effect a whole neighbourhood and it can really upset people.   The last thing you want as a dog owner is animal control on your door step all because your neighbors complained about the excessive barking.  Anti barking collars are not designed to be worn every day.   They are designed to be a corrective method only and once you starting seeing results then you need to discontinue use, and only reuse the collar if your dogs behaviour is starting to slip.   If your dog is neurotic then its best that you search for alternatives to a stop barking collar.   This is because the unpleasant vibrations that your dog will be feeling may set the dog off to try and get the collar off, this could leave to your dog being hurt.  The different types of a stop barking collars are the citronella collar, this will let off a spray near the dogs face, your dog will not like the smell and soon figure out that when he barks it will trigger off this smell he does not like.   The other type is a static collar, this sends off an unpleasant vibration when your dog barks.   Again your dog will soon learn that when they bark, they get an unpleasant vibration.   This vibration has no electricity in it, so it will not cause your dog any pain.  Boredom, anxiety, stranger alert and excitement are some of the reasons why your dog will be barking.   If there is something in his or her life bothering them, then this can lead to excessive barking.   To stop your dog from barking once and for all you need to identify why they were barking in the first place.   Once you do this then you can remove what ever is bothering them and restore peace back in your house.  Stop barking collars will help stop your dog from barking fairly fast.   It is normal for a dog to bark and express himself, however, there is a fine line between normal barking and excessive barking.   You only need to use an anti barking collar when your dog is barking excessively.   Anti barking collars are designed as a corrective method only, not for every day use.
