Get him one of those ZAP, that will give him shock when he starts to bark.

  2. Maddie says:

Well you could train him by walking out the door and telling him no bark OR get another dog to give him company.

What are wrong with you people SHOCK COLLAR? That could damage the dog for life he would be scared if someone put a collar on him.

  3. Haily says:

    Shock coller

  4. says:

Try Kongs or crate him and take him for a long walk before you go out to tire him out so he doesnt want to bark.

He may just have some kind of seperation anxiety which can take time to mend but start by going out of the room he is in without making a fuss and closing the door then returning after a short while without acknowledging him. gradually extend the time that youre gone for.

I would always leave a t shirt that i had worn for them to lay on and leave the
tv or radio on for them to have noise company. This has worked with two different dogs for me.

Read up in a book, or Google “Separation Anxiety”. There will be tons of information and different methods to try. Most dogs respond well to one method, but not to all, so you might have to try a couple of ideas. Just make sure you give the one you choose first a good amount of time to work – the cure will not be overnight, and you will have to persist and be strong with rules. Good Luck.

Scold him lightly when he barks or howls, If you have a nice neigbor that you trust, give them a key and have them go and scold the dog if the howling keeps up. Or try keeping the TV on.
    Hope this helps.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but maybe you shouldn’t have a dog if you are not allowed to have a barking animal in your apartment…because dogs are barking animals. Some dogs do bark ALL DAY LONG. More likely, the dog will be barking when it hears someone walk by, etc. which happens all the time in apt. complexes.
How long have you had the dog? If it has been only a week, give it time. But after a few weeks of the new routine, your dogs s hould “get over it”. If not, this is separation anxiety.
Is your dog in a roomy crate? Is ther e aradio and or TV left on? THis can help ease separation anxiety. Also, sometimes dogs will bark for a little bit, but once they hear your footsteps go away, they quit. It’s like they are testing you. Do NOT go back in to scold the dog or pay attention. Just leave. Ask a neighbor to tell you how bad it really is, or better, set up a webcam or tape recorder. It may not be as bad as you think!

Whining is one of the major problems people have with their dogs, and stopping the behavior one of the greatest challenges that dog owners face. Training to stop your dog’s whining is most effective when you start early. Yet no matter how old or young your dog is, you need to begin by understanding why dogs whine. Then you can then learn more about how to stop your dog whining.

You can limit or even stop this by giving several obedience commands such as the ones shown here, http://snipurl.com/ulffn
