try blocking off the window so he cant see it, you can buy some poster board and get it to stick up there with some ticky tacky
1. Bring your dog inside.
2. Call an eco-”exterminator” to come trap the animal and release it in the woods.
i don’t know… but…you have possums? that’s cool. do they really hang from their tales?
You could muzzle your dog or bring it inside. Getting rid of the possum won’t work because another one will come in it’s place. You could try though.
try to get rid of the possums. and buy a muzzel for your dog and put it on once you hear him barking continuously. by the second week, he’ll learn to hate the muzzel and not bark, so he doesn’t have to wear it. lol. that’s what i did with my dog.
Get Possum Repellent. Here’s a link to the website for the only sure fire way to rid your property of these pests.

Good luck to you.
Block the windows, muzzle the dog, get an exterminator… all good advice for blocking sight of the possums and muffling the dog, but it does not stop the behavior that is annoying to you as a dog owner.
First off, dogs bark for many reasons. Commonly though, they bark out of protest, and they bark for warning.
You must teach your dog when it is okay to bark. Try a routine with your dog that involves their favorite treat, or toy. Get them to “speak” by getting excited and even barking at your pet yourself. May feel silly for the first couple of times, but if you are one to get excited, you will get your dog excited enough to “speak”. Now that your dog knows the command for “speak”, let them know that you do not wish them to bark when you don’t want them to.
At night time is a good time to test it. Get excited with your dog using the a toy such as a ball and if your dog barks, scold them for it. Don’t hit your dog, but touch your dog with a sharp and stern voice saying “No”. Touch is very important as it brings the dog back to you and the situation that you are in. Often times dog’s adrenaline is pumping so hard that it is difficult for them to pay attention to your voice commands, and a touch will bring them back to where they should be.
A touch again is not a strike or a swat, but a simple tap on the rear or shoulder with about as much pressure as you would exert when relieving an itch on your face. After a few times of scolding your dog for barking, watch their behavior after firmly telling them no.
If your dog lowers its head and tucks tail, it is telling you that you are the master (dominant one) and it will not challenge you. However, if you have a dog that becomes aggressive afterwards such as a growl or even an angry bark towards you, you should seek a more professional pet trainer to aid you (unless it is a small dog that you feel a nip or a bite won’t neccesarily harm you until you can persist in correcting their behavior).
Please know that the possums are not the problem in your dog’s behavior, and if you remove the possums… what happens when your dog starts barking at crickets all night? Correct the barking, and you will have a much more likeable floppy earred friend.
This question made me laugh right out loud. It just sounds so funny
) Is your dog inside or outside when he is barking? If he’s outside, bring him in if you can. I’m surprised any possums would dare come into your yard with a dog around. If he’s inside, you could close the curtains or blinds so he can’t see the possum. I’m still laughing. . .
