I’m dogsitting for 3 days (fri, sat, and sun). we ran with the dog for little bit today and he went #2 and #1. Then when we brought him home, he peed on the floor. He pees when he’s excited. We locked him in the cage and kitchen for a while, and he started barking. Is there any way to stop him from barking in urinating for these 3 days? He is 7 months old. He also has a pee pad, but he refuses to use it and goes on the carpet instead.

being thrown into a new environment is a very stressful situation for a puppy. You can not stop it from peeing and barking entirely, but when he is barking in his kennel as long as he doesn’t have to go potty just ignore him, no talking eye contact nothing. And to prevent the excited pee just stay really calm with him and if he gets excited and does the little squatty sit or belly crawl, ignore him and walk away.

Try to not get the dog excited know it’s hard but you have to start ignoring him it may seem mean but he has to learn. With the barking you have to look him in the eye and sternly say no!

If you stop him from breathing, you will solve the peeing and barking problems as well.
