If U really want to go 2 the extreme their is an operation 2 remove there vocal cords .But try a trainer instead .

  3. ndn2nutty says:

shock coller it shut’s em’ up quick.

  4. ll3761 says:

get a no bark collar. it delivers a short shock when dog barks, does not hurt, but is more uncomfterable then painful.

well what i do with mine is i go out and give them a warning u know Stop and to try to give them as much atention and let them in the house so they are really not around the things they want to bark at u know what i mean.

Let it be as long as its not waking the neighbors. Nobody removes your voice box or puts a shock collar on you do they? It’s there way of communicating. When they get excited, are mad or need attention they bark. Is the dog in unhappy conditions?

  7. vtsyid says:

DONT GET AN OPERATION ON ITS VOICE BOX! its cruel and just stupid. thats how they communicate.
take it to a couple of dog training lessons, have a chat to the instructer and see what they say.

does it only bark when youre out, or all the time?

maybe it asks for something, your attention maybe, food or whatever.

Most of these other answers are great. Some barking is OK but if it is out of control it is often because the dog isn’t receiving attention like it should.Another thing is too, don’t give the dog what it wants when it barks. That just reinforces it. Assuming the dog gets adequate attention, just ignore it when it barks.

This I just don’t understand. Why people get pets! It is a dog and they BARK. Like if you had a bird it would CHIRP. Operation to remove its vocal cords, yes it can be done but HOW CRUEL. Maybe you should have gotten a fish! How would you like if someone removed your vocal cords or put a shock collar on you because you talk to much? And further more, you never indicated what makes your pet bark to much. When you leave the house? When its tied outside? When its in its crate? These are key factors in answering this question.

We trained our dog not to bark by squirting him with a water bottle. We also told him “NO” and removed him from whatever made him bark (he usually was overly excited) and put him somewhere quiet. Dogs do bark but when it’s excessive is when we should work to stop them. They need to realize that we are in charge and are the dominant ones. Good Luck!

  12. projects_unforgotten says:

Try a hand held trainer. It gives off a high pitch sound when the button is depressed and is not harmful to the dog. I broke my dog of constant barking with this and telling her no after I released the button. Make sure you only use it for excessive barking though because its a dogs nature to bark at unfamiliar things.
