Bring him in or get a bark collar. He is just communicating with other dogs or maybe their is someone around prowling.

make it waer one of those guards over their mouths

Find him a place to sleep indoors, even if it’s the garage.
Dogs are social and really should be with their families and not left all alone. He’s just talking to other dogs for a little company. I’m sure you’d do the same. :-)
The best thing for your dog would be to be made part of the family, and to be allowed to sleep inside with the rest of his pack.

what I do with my chihuaha is, I have a large fan, I put it on(one of those metal fans med/large) it drowns out the noise from people/things outside. if I’m not home, I close the window too, and keep the tv on, & fan. My downstairs neighbors are loud, always outside and talk loud normally, so that’s what I had to do so she wouldn’t bark all the time. my other suggestion is to read about the trainer oprah used for her dogs, I saw her on the show and she made sense saying you have to teach your dog manners, don’t acknowledge bad behaivor, be firm and say no when the dog barks, give treat when they don’t, or spray a squirt from water bottle at them when they bark, it won’t hurt them, and soon just the sight of water bottle will stop them from barking or other bad habits. good luck! I don’t believe in those shock collars, so please don’t use that, neighbors will have to deal with it if that was my only choice

That is really hard. My dog barks alot too and we don’t know what to do with her! I would suggest punishing him someway.
